Miss Pamela (Miller) Des Barres (or Miss “P” as she is referred to by various members of Led Zeppelin) is an author, journalist, creator of the infamous plaster casters, member of Frank Zappa’s all girl group “GTO”, nanny to Moon Unit Zappa, super groupie girlfriend of Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Noel Redding, Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger, Waylon Jennings, Don Johnson…and others.

She was asked to decorate this Roy Smeck H7 by The Guess Who guitarist Bobby Bilan, Bobby employed this very lap steel on stage with the Guess Who to perform the song “Star Baby”. The references in ink are ” Bobby’s Little Starbaby” (for obvious reasons) “Whole Lotta Love” for her relationships with Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, “All You Need Is Love” for her forever crush on Paul McCartney & of course “GTO” because of her musical all girl group. If this instrument could talk we would have quite a tale to tell, it is in excellent condition and everything works.

VGC+, two-level design (black “body” attached to white “table” with Lucite cover over black and white painted “fretboard”). Control knobs have been replaced, the guitar now has reissue nocaster knobs for better grip to facilitate swell effects. 22-5/8″ scale. Endorsed by the Wizard of the Strings, with black “Roy Smeck” logo (name on top of a stylized musical staff) on the black tailpiece cover.’62 catalog says this model was “developed for Roy Smeck’s professional appearances,” made in Chicago, with OHSC (blue lining) and 3 original chrome adjustable height legs.
